PsychiatristLocation: Leavenworth, KSSetting: Federal correctional healthcarePay: $8,300/weekContract Length: 6 monthsSchedule: Full-timeCare Career is seeking a Psychiatrist for a full-time contract opportunity in a federal correctional healthcare setting in Leavenworth, KS.This role provides psychiatric care and clinical oversight for adult patients in a secure facility setting. The Psychiatrist will complete evaluations, provide DSM diagnoses, prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, and support the overall mental health program within the facility.Responsibilities:* Provide direct psychiatric care to assigned patients* Complete psychiatric evaluations and DSM diagnoses* Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications* Order and review labs as clinically appropriate* Participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary communication* Provide clinical guidance to facility mental health staff* Maintain accurate documentation and required reports* Participate in civil commitment proceedings and on-call coverage as neededRequirements:* MD or DO with psychiatry training* Must be board eligible at minimum to qualify for privileges* Active, unrestricted medical license* BLS certification required* Inpatient psychiatric experience preferred* U.S. citizenship required for federal clearance* Must be able to complete background, credit investigation, and facility clearance processClearance:Federal clearance is required and typically takes 4–6 weeks from initiation.Compensation:This position pays $8,300/week. Care Career partners with healthcare facilities to connect qualified providers with meaningful contract opportunities.PandoLogic.
