Legal Billing AnalystLocation: Wheeling, WV (Hybrid 1 day on site per week) Work Hours: 12pm - 9 pmAre you detail-oriented, organized, and motivated to take initiative in a fast-paced, team-driven environment? A client of DWS has an excellent opportunity for a Legal Billing Analyst in Wheeling, WV. In this role, you'll collaborate with attorneys, secretaries, and clients to manage complex billing processes with accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality.Responsibilities:Create billing schedules and various other billing analyses as requiredMaintain a portfolio of billing attorneys.Review and edit pre-bills in response to attorney and secretary requests.Process write-offs following Firm policy.Ability to handle a high volume of complex bills in a timely manner (i.e., multiple discounts by matter, split-party billing, preparation of electronic bills).Ability to effectively interact and communicate with attorneys, secretaries, and clients.Review and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation as required.Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems.Work with applications team to create and implement new billing formats.Create and distribute monthly reports.Adhere to Firm billing policies.Utilize computerized accounting and payables software programs (CMS, Excel, Word) to perform duties and responsibilities.Ensure strict confidentiality at all times.Assist with special projects, other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications:College level accounting classes or Accounting Degree, or equivalent work experience1-3 or more years hands-on professional experienceDemonstrated proficiency with MS OfficeAbility to multi-task and prioritizeAbility to organize work flow and use time efficientlyAbility to show strong attention to detailAbility to perform at high levels in a dynamic ever-changing work environment and successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demandsAbility to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction, follow up on own initiativeFlexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours; possibly work weekends or eveningPreferred Skills:Billing experience in a law firmCMS, Elite, Javelan (or equivalent accounting software) experience
