Lead Full Stack Java Developer

Hybrid 4 in Pittsburgh, PA

Our client is seeking a Lead Full Stack Java Developer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys both hands-on development and leading technical initiatives.

In this role, you’ll help build and scale modern applications while driving projects forward, mentoring team members, and improving processes end-to-end.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $80.00 to $85.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular
• Lead and contribute to end-to-end system design and development , ensuring high-quality, maintainable code
• Drive technical projects forward , ensuring timelines, deliverables, and priorities stay aligned
• Partner with stakeholders to understand business processes and translate them into optimal technical solutions
• Identify and implement process improvements across the SDLC , from development through deployment
• Leverage AI tools and technologies to improve coding efficiency, automation, and development workflows
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, guiding best practices and coding standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, QA, and other engineering teams
• Act as a technical lead on projects , ensuring work is properly scoped, assigned, and tracked
• Coordinate team efforts to keep initiatives on schedule and align with goals

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in full-stack development
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Java
• Spring Boot
• Angular
• Proven experience leading projects or guiding engineering teams
• Experience analyzing business workflows and translating them into technical solutions
• Comfort working across the full development lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, automation, optimization tools)
• Strong understanding of system design and architecture
• Experience improving or optimizing engineering processes and workflows
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
