Description
- Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Craft tailored treatment plans that cater to both short-term and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy aimed at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop coordinated care strategies.
- Provide educational support for patients and families to facilitate progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Engage in occasional inpatient assessments and therapy interventions, ensuring a seamless care experience throughout the recovery journey.
- Maintain up-to-date and precise documentation to comply with state, federal, and organizational requirements.
- Continue to evolve as a professional by staying informed on the latest advancements in the field through educational opportunities and peer networking.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if ASHA certification is pending.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in research-based therapeutic methods suitable for all ages, equipped with a profound understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Adaptability in therapy methods to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong analytical capabilities and clinical reasoning.
- Comfort and familiarity with electronic medical record systems and documentation requirements.
