Associate Product Support Scientist

Abbott seeks an Associate Product Support Scientist to provide technical support for in vitro diagnostic operations in Madison, Wisconsin. The role involves root cause investigation, corrective action implementation, and cross-functional collaboration with production, quality control, and R&D teams.

Responsibilities

• Investigate out-of-specification events and non-conformances through root cause analysis and CAPA implementation
• Perform experimental testing including assay characterization, method validation, and data analysis
• Support qualification of new raw materials and alternative supply channels for diagnostic products
• Generate experimental protocols, work instructions, and technical documentation for quality system compliance
• Collaborate across departments to troubleshoot analytical and functional assays and manufacturing processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field
• 2+ years life sciences industry experience; Master's or PhD may substitute
• Proficiency with PCR-based and NGS-based reagents and products
• Ability to program and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation including PCR, sequencers, and automation
• Knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry, or biotechnology manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and statistical analysis techniques
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
