The Receptionist receives and correctly routes incoming and outgoing telephone calls and accommodates visitors to attend to all callers/visitors promptly, courteously, and accurately. The Receptionist 1 performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support/computational tasks. Typically work on routine and patterned assignments.

Receptionist Key Responsibilities

• Receive and accurately route incoming and outgoing telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
• Greet and accommodate patients, visitors, and vendors, ensuring all individuals are assisted promptly and respectfully.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby and reception area.
• Schedule patient appointments accurately while following established scheduling guidelines and provider availability.
• Scan and index patient documents into the electronic medical record (EMR) in a timely and accurate manner.
• Prepare and review patient charts to ensure all required documentation is complete prior to appointments.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage information before visits to support accurate registration and billing.
• Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support clinic operations as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred; however, candidates with a strong customer service background in retail, hospitality, call centers, or similar service-oriented environments will be considered.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
• Must be proficient in the English language, including the ability to effectively communicate with patients, visitors, providers, and team members.
• Reliable attendance and professional demeanor.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a value-based care healthcare model preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and its appropriate use within a clinical setting.
• Experience utilizing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for patient documentation, scheduling, and chart management.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance verification processes and healthcare front-office operations.
• Strong understanding of patient-centered customer service and healthcare workflows.
• Ability to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Additional Information: This role is considered patient-facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

Scheduled Weekly Hours 40

Pay Range $38,000 - $45,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
