Controller

Edge is a leading provider of integrated, managed voice, data technology systems, and services for business. Department: Accounting Reports to: CEO Location: Plano, TX Position Description The Controller owns the Accounting function and serves as the senior Accounting leader for the organization. This is a hands‑on operator role — you partner directly with the CEO and department heads, lead accounting and reporting, manage banking and tax relationships, and develop the finance team. Primary Responsibilities Controls Accounting processes and team accountability. Leads monthly and annual financial close; owns financial statement preparation and review. Delivers monthly reporting packages to the executive team covering operating results, AR aging, and utilization. Manages AR, AP, and Purchasing; oversees invoicing, collections, commissions, and procurement. Owns cash flow management, rolling forecasts, and proactive communication of risks to leadership. Leads annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting with the executive team. Ensures regulatory and tax compliance; manages external CPA, banking, and compliance vendor relationships. Manages and develops the finance and accounting team, including an Accounting Manager and supporting staff. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including full finance function ownership in a mid‑market environment. Proven ability to operate strategically and hands‑on; comfortable setting direction and doing the work. Service-based business experience; IT services, managed services, or telecom background a plus. Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct, ConnectWise, or equivalent. High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, integrity, and internal controls.
