About the Opportunity As an EHS Engineer, you will be a key member of the site EHS team, partnering closely with operations leadership to develop, implement, and sustain programs that drive safety performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to influence site-wide initiatives, support complex manufacturing operations, and help shape the future of EHS performance at the facility. Key Responsibilities Support facility-wide fatality and serious injury prevention initiatives. Help deploy and execute critical safety programs while coaching plant leadership teams. Analyze injury and incident data to identify trends and implement proactive risk-reduction strategies. Participate in and support industrial hygiene programs, including: Exposure monitoring and sampling Hazardous material management Ergonomics programs Radiation protection activities Employee exposure record management Lead and support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation. Assist with management of environmental permits and regulatory compliance activities. Track and report environmental performance metrics, including emissions, waste generation, and energy consumption. Support development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS policies, procedures, and management systems. Coach supervisors and department leaders on EHS responsibilities and accountability. Partner with site leadership to achieve safety, health, and environmental objectives. Contribute to additional EHS projects and initiatives as needed. Qualifications Required Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Environmental, Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, or a related field. Ability to work on-site in Hampton, VA. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Safety, Health, or a related discipline. ASP, CSP, CIH, or other relevant professional certification (or the ability to obtain certification). Experience supporting manufacturing, aerospace, defense, metals, industrial, or heavy manufacturing environments.
