Senior Property Accountant

Your Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly general ledger close, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution
• Prepare monthly financial statements and recurring property reports
• Analyze operating results, financial trends, and budget variances
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and weekly cash-flow planning
• Monitor cash balances, funding requirements, and upcoming financial obligations
• Reconcile vendor statements, resident payments, billing, and cash receipts
• Research outstanding receivables and assist with collection reporting
• Track repairs, renovations, and capital project costs
• Prepare job-cost reports and monitor project budgets
• Maintain organized, accurate, and audit-ready financial records
• Develop consistent accounting workflows, reporting standards, and internal controls
• Partner with property teams and leadership to resolve issues and support operational decisions

What You Need to Succeed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline preferred
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience
• Yardi Voyager, Vendor Café, or Procure to Pay
• Multifamily, real estate, or property accounting experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow, and financial analysis capabilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• Ability to manage multiple properties, priorities, and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and take ownership
