Direct Counsel is seeking a

Labor & Employment Associate

to join a growing and sophisticated employment law practice in Los Angeles. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work on a broad range of employment counseling and litigation matters while collaborating with a nationally recognized practice group.

The ideal candidate will have

4–8 years of experience

handling employment litigation and counseling matters, including wage and hour class actions and single-plaintiff employment disputes. Responsibilities

Advise employers on a wide range of employment law issues and workplace compliance matters Defend clients in wage and hour class actions, PAGA matters, and employment litigation Handle single-plaintiff claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation-related filings Take and defend depositions Participate in trial preparation and trial proceedings Collaborate closely with clients and attorneys on litigation strategy and risk management initiatives Qualifications

4–8 years of labor and employment law experience Significant experience in employment counseling and litigation Experience handling wage and hour class actions and single-plaintiff employment claims Superior legal research, writing, and motion drafting skills Experience taking and defending depositions Trial and/or substantial trial preparation experience Restrictive covenant and traditional labor experience is a plus Strong academic credentials and communication skills Active California Bar admission required Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range:

$215,000 – $255,000 4x4 Hybrid Model
