MSA SurgiCenter , a subsidiary of Muskegon Surgical Associates, is seeking an individual to join our team as a full time Patient Coordinator/Surgery Scheduler in our Ambulatory Surgery Center. This position will work 36 hours per week/72 hours per pay period.

Muskegon Surgical Associates, PC has been providing surgical care to West Michigan since 1972. We are an independently owned multi-specialty practice consisting of 13 surgeons and approximately 120 employees. in our Ambulatory Surgery Center.

The Patient Coordinator and Surgery Scheduler serves as the primary point of contact for patients throughout the perioperative scheduling and registration process. This position combines front desk reception, patient registration, insurance verification, benefits review and surgical scheduling to ensure exceptional patient experience and efficient surgical operations. The role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, knowledge of insurance requirements, and the ability to coordinate effectively with patients, physicians’ offices, and clinical staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant Certification or Medical Administrative Assistant degree (preferred).
• Minimum 2-year medical office or healthcare scheduling, patient access, registration, and insurance verification required.
• Experience verifying insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, and managed care requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and EMR software.
