Delivery Material HandlerAre you a hands-on person searching for a rewarding career opportunity? Our Delivery Material Handlers work alongside our driver and are responsible for ensuring the proper delivery of building materials to the job site by using a forklift, crane, conveyor and/or by hand. Gulfeagle offers several training opportunities to help develop our employees into the next stage of their career.Essential Functions:DeliveryResponsible for loading or assisting in loading and securing materials on trucks daily.Assists in verifying the quantities of materials for accuracy.Assists driver in locating the job site.Spot driver when backing up into a job site.Direct driver in placement of the conveyor.Unload or assists in unloading materials by using forklift crane, conveyor and/or by hand. (May require walking varying distances based on job site conditions.)Roof TopResponsible for climbing up to a 40-foot ladder to deliver materials on a pitch of up to an 8/12 roof.Ensure proper stacking and distribution in the placement of materials on the roof.EquipmentEnsure truck is properly equipped for delivery including filling cooler, strapping materials, loading ladder, and other as needed.OSHAResponsible for OSHA compliance as it relates to oneself and the companyInventoryAssist in taking inventory quarterly or as needed.MaintenanceMaintain warehouse, yard, and trucks in a proper presentable manner. Minor repairs as needed.SafetyResponsible for the safe handling of materials including wearing back brace, gloves, shoes, and other safety devices as appropriate. Responsible for aiding in the safe operation of vehicles as it relates to the customer's property and Gulfeagle's property.Customer ServiceAiding Customers with materials, reporting problems with deliveries, service issues, and all other as neededAccountability:Reports directly to the Branch Manager and indirectly to the District Manager on branch and personnel issues. Reports indirectly to the Safety team regarding fleet, safety, and staff.Education, Experience, and Licensing:1. Read, write, and comprehend English or Spanish as required by the branch location. 2. Knowledge of roofing material and/or construction and distribution.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.Ability to bend, reach, lift, and climbMust lift up to 100 pounds of material continually for up to two hours at a time.Ability to work on multi-story buildings at various heights.Ability to work in hot, cold, rain, or shine.Requires a high degree of attention to ensure proper delivery while preventing damage to materials and equipment.Ability to maintain loyalty to Gulfeagle SupplyAbility to interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
