Occupational Therapist School Setting in Elgin, IL

Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as an Occupational Therapist throughout a diverse school setting near Elgin, IL. This full-time, itinerant position covers multiple school sites, including elementary, middle, and high schools. Throughout the academic year, youll have the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and positively impact students from Pre-K up to age 22 in various educational environments. Qualifications Desired: Valid Occupational Therapy license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Active Educator License from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Previous school-based OT experience is preferred Comfortable handling a varied caseload and adapting to different school environments Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills Must complete fingerprinting as part of credentialing requirements Role Responsibilities: Deliver direct therapy services to students with a range of abilities and needs Travel between assigned schools within the district, adhering to each campuss start and end times Work closely with special education teams, teachers, and families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans Maintain thorough, compliant documentation for all services provided Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student assessments, goal-setting, and progress monitoring Support students development of fine/gross motor skills, functional independence, and participation in daily school activities This contract offers a stable and meaningful opportunity throughout the school year, from late August through early June.
