About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Vice President for Licensed Products and Books. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction, and accountability for all aspects of the licensed products and books divisions. This includes managing P&L, annual operating budgets, and ensuring that all products and services align with the company's cultural, educational, and scholarly values. The role involves acting as a key relationship manager, overseeing the operational relationship with the book publishing departments, and developing comprehensive strategies to manage and monetize the company's brand and content assets. The SVP will also be involved in contract negotiations, performance tracking, and will be expected to have a strong background in licensing, partnership management, and product development, particularly within the context of cultural institutions or heritage brands. Applicants for this position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 15 years of related experience, with a proven track record in building and executing revenue-generating strategies. The role requires advanced computer skills, excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities, and a strong entrepreneurial yet disciplined management style. The ideal candidate will have a reputation for professional integrity, strong leadership skills, and the ability to inspire teams to achieve results that are in line with the organization's goals. Experience in contract negotiation, rights management, and a background in working with mission-driven organizations are essential. The position demands a high level of commitment, including the ability to travel up to 10% of the time, and the individual must be prepared to undergo a full-field background investigation.
