About the Role
The Company is in search of a strategic and deal-driven Senior Vice President for Content Strategy and Business Development. This executive will be responsible for leading the strategic expansion of editorial reach and enterprise distribution, with a focus on bridging the gap between content production and revenue growth. The role involves identifying, negotiating, and executing high-value content distribution and licensing deals, as well as innovating business models to ensure financial sustainability. The SVP will also be tasked with structuring external partnerships, managing the partnership revenue, and collaborating with enterprise stakeholders to align resource allocation with the company's strategic objectives. Candidates for this position should have a minimum of 15 years' leadership experience in media business development, content licensing, distribution, or syndication, particularly within the news or digital publishing sectors. A proven track record of initiating and closing complex, revenue-generating partnerships is essential, as is a deep understanding of independent journalism and the ability to balance revenue goals with editorial integrity. The role requires strong negotiation skills, analytical capability, and clear communication, as well as the ability to collaborate with senior journalists, newsroom leadership, and legal teams to protect editorial independence. A Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience is required, with a preference for candidates who have a substantive understanding of the public media system and related regulatory environments.
