Job Purpose: The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and menu components according to company recipes and standards. This role ensures stations are properly stocked and organized while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment. Prep Cooks play a key role in supporting kitchen operations and ensuring food is prepared efficiently and to quality expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients for service, including chopping, portioning, mixing, and measuring
• Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before each shift
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas throughout the shift
• Label, date, and store all food items properly for freshness and safety
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
• Work quickly and efficiently to support timely food preparation
• Communicate equipment, product, or supply needs to management promptly
• Assist in training new kitchen team members when requested
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a high-volume kitchen preferred; multiple station experience a plus
• Strong understanding of basic cooking and preparation methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
• Excellent teamwork, organization, and communication skills
• Safe Food Handler certification preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Working Conditions:

• Fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and wet floors
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Frequent handwashing and use of gloves required
• Schedule includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
