Travel Consultant Discovering the World- One Member at a Time! A love of travel attracts many people to the field, but to succeed a Travel Consultant must be passionate about travel and the endless opportunities it brings to bridge history, cultures and cuisine. Responsibilities Sell international and domestic travel packages including cruises, land packages, travel itineraries, air, car, and hotel. Share knowledge and expertise from personal experiences and/or educational study trips. Develop long‑standing relationships with members and build referral and repeat business. Make appropriate recommendations to ensure the trip experience is more than expected and tailored to the member's expectations. Cross‑sell relevant products to enhance the trip experience, such as AAA Member Rewards Credit Card, and identify theft referrals. Progress through evaluations that assess sales, customer service, administrative, operations, up‑selling, cross‑selling and goal attainment, with potential for future leadership opportunities. Qualifications High school diploma required; preference for 2‑ or 4‑year college degree. Successful completion of a comprehensive criminal background check and urine drug screening. Minimum 2 years of retail sales, banking, or leisure travel agency experience in a goal‑oriented environment preferred. Availability to work most Saturdays and some evenings to support goal achievement. Willingness to travel for training as part of the Travel Consultant Trainee program. Strong sales drive and ability to exceed goals. Computer savvy with proficiency in multiple systems and web browsers, Microsoft Office, and a typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
