Development Associate

Conservation X Labs Inc Development Associate Washington, DC Full time CXL is in search of a Development Associate to join our team. This position is critical to the smooth operations of our development and executive team, and will work at the center of a passionate, impact-driven non‑profit organization. Responsibilities Support to President and CEO in their fundraising efforts Coordination of fundraising around priority CXL programs, including South America Fire Fund, nature finance, and conservation technology Manage a deliberate plan around donor cultivation, including events, regular outreach and engagement, and related communication products Utilize a full suite of technology tools, including AI where appropriate, to ensure donor information is appropriately maintained in CXL’s systems and databases Regularly consider and pursue ways of working that drive greater effectiveness and efficiency Track and support program milestones and deliverables, ensuring timely, compelling, and accurate reporting to donors, and supporting accounting and financial record-keeping Research prospective donors and assist in the compilation of partner stewardship reports Assist in generating reports and data analysis to assess program funding progress and identify opportunities and trends Assist in keeping CXL information up to date on various fundraising-related platforms Prepare monthly donor or campaign-specific reports for the Executive team Assist in reconciling expense reports, trip reports and reimbursement, and daily collection of invoices and payments Provide internal scheduling support, preparation of meeting agendas, and related follow up with key stakeholders Help organize and coordinate development events, including preparing materials, setting up venues, and assisting with logistics Assist with event registration, team communication and coordination, and on‑day event support Participate in post‑event follow-up activities, such as sending thank‑you messages and compiling feedback Qualifications Required: You must have the ability to commute at least three days a week to our office in Washington, DC Bachelor’s degree Strong organizational skills and broad understanding of ways of working in a small office Ability to navigate ambiguity; self‑starter Passionate about ending extinction Curiosity and commitment to learning Excellent written skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail Proficiency with MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Canva, Google office suite, Airtable Desired: Foreign language proficiency, particularly in Spanish, Portuguese, or French Experience with CRM databases Experience with executive support, including scheduling and following up on meetings Salary $62,000 - $78,000 per year We are committed to creating and cultivating a diverse workforce and inclusive environment where every employee and contractor has the right to work in surroundings that are free from all forms of unlawful or intentional discrimination.
