Key Responsibilities

• Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering tests, and developing personalized treatment plans
• Diagnosing and managing acute, chronic, or episodic health issues, either independently or under the guidance of physicians
• Providing education to patients and their families regarding health maintenance and illness prevention
• Prescribing medications and therapeutic interventions as permitted by the scope of your practice

Educational Criteria

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

Essential Certifications

• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty
