Senior Distribution Design Engineer

Apply now to join our Charlotte team as a Sr. Design Engineer, leading overhead and underground distribution projects from concept to completion. You’ll perform and support field noting, develop construction prints, prepare budget estimates (Maximo/BOUD), and ensure quality through QA/QC. This role also includes structural analysis of distribution poles while collaborating with the team to deliver reliable, high-quality designs.What You'll Do: Apply your technical expertise to develop high-quality designs that meet project specifications and client requirements.Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to understand project goals and design details.Communicate project risks or challenges related to scope, schedule, cost, and quality.Partner with Designers and Drafters to produce complete and accurate design packages.Contribute to engineering designs through calculations, drawings, and technical analysis.Lead design efforts on smaller projects and support complex engineering initiatives.Ensure designs comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations.Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, clients, and vendors.Help coordinate design tasks and support the development of design team members.Maintain quality by following company and client procedures and performing thorough self-reviews.Support field activities and other project needs as required.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university3+ years of relevant work experience in electrical distributionQA/QC experience is highly desiredKnowledge of BOUD, Maximo, and Computer-Aided Design (CAD)Strong work ethic with a desire to work in a production environmentWhat We Offer:A supportive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and encourages innovation.Opportunities for professional growth and career development.Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, 401(k) with company match, tuition reimbursement, and flexible work schedules.Benefits offered include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match.
