Job Details

We are seeking a Construction Accountant to support project accounting, job costing, billing, payables, and financial reporting for commercial construction projects.

Job Description

• Manage project accounting for commercial construction projects
• Track job costs, budgets, commitments, change orders, and project financial performance
• Prepare and process AIA billing, pay applications, invoices, and owner billing documents
• Review subcontractor invoices, vendor invoices, lien waivers, and supporting documentation
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general accounting functions
• Work closely with project managers, estimators, and leadership to maintain accurate project financials
• Assist with WIP reporting, cost reporting, monthly close, and financial reporting
• Maintain organized accounting records, project files, contracts, change orders, and billing documents
• Help ensure accounting processes are accurate, timely, and aligned with construction project requirements

Qualifications

• Experience in construction accounting, project accounting, or accounting within a commercial construction environment
• Strong understanding of job costing, AIA billing, pay applications, lien waivers, and subcontractor billing
• Experience supporting general contractors, construction managers, or specialty contractors preferred
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Sage, Viewpoint, Foundation, QuickBooks, Procore, or similar construction software is a plus
• Ability to work closely with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal leadership
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow through
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and accounting priorities
• Degree in accounting, finance, business, or related experience preferred
