What You'll Do

• Provide top-tier nursing care on the Med/Surg/Telemetry unit
• Monitor patient vitals, administer medications, and review patient status regularly
• Support patients with postoperative care, documentation, and assessment of conditions such as sepsis, CHF, COPD, and post-op overflow
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including physicians, RTs, PT/OT, and hospital staff
• Maintain regulatory compliance, including passing an EKG competency exam pre-arrival
• Assist with wound management, JP drains, wound vacs, IV access, and pain management activities
• Float across various units within the hospital as needed

What You Need Required:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or your state of residence
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience (first-time travelers accepted with 2 years of perm staff experience)
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Strong clinical skills in wound management, IV therapy, and patient assessment

Preferred:

• Experience in Telemetry, Med/Surg, or related units
• Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and units
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
