About the Company At Commtech, a New Charter Company, we are seeking a Business Development Representative (in other companies this person could hold the title of Sales Engineer, Outside Sales, Technical Sales, IT Services Sales), to drive new business growth through proactive outbound sales and relationship leadership. Job Information Position: Business Development Representative (BDR) Location: onsite in Metairie, LA with some travel. Key Responsibilities Build and work targeted account lists; generate meetings through cold calling, email, and LinkedIn outreach. Lead discovery and qualification conversations to identify business drivers, budget, timeline, stakeholders, and success criteria. Coordinate Sales Engineers for technical scoping and translate findings into a clear path forward. Draft and present proposals and SOWs; handle objections and drive opportunities to signature. Maintain CRM accuracy, pipeline visibility, and forecasting discipline. Partner cross-functionally with Marketing and Services to refine messaging, ICP, and solution positioning. Required Experience Demonstrated competitive drive with a strong desire to win new business, exceed goals, and consistently outperform targets in a metrics-driven environment. Resilient and persistent mindset with the ability to handle rejection, adapt quickly, and maintain high activity levels in outbound prospecting. Self-motivated and highly accountable, with an ownership mentality toward pipeline creation, deal progression, and personal performance improvement. Demonstrated success with cold calling and multi-step outbound sequences. Strong written and verbal communication skills with confident phone presence. Preferred Experience Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or equivalent professional experience. 1-2+ years in a BDR/SDR, AE-lite, or full-cycle outbound B2B sales role. Proficiency with CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce. Experience in IT services, MSP, or adjacent technology services. Knowledge with common IT infrastructure and support service, including cloud, cybersecurity, help desk, or networking concepts. Familiarity with sales engagement and data tools such as Salesloft, Outreach, ZoomInfo, or Apollo. Knowledge of the Greater New Orleans business community. Compensation Competitive base salary plus commission and performance-based bonuses. The compensation is expected to start at $55,000, plus commission. Our offer will be determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.
