Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianUnder general supervision, the Maintenance Technician performs a variety of routine multi-craft maintenance for our campus facilities; ensures that facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical trades work. Operates a variety of maintenance and cleaning tools and equipment; and performs related work as required.Specific Responsibilities:Performs a variety of routine multi-craft maintenance for campus facilities, including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical trades work. Ensures that facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.Assembles, repairs, maintains, and moves furniture, such as desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, and related fittings and fixtures.Conducts routine inspections and maintenance of heating, electrical, and air conditioning equipment; replaces filters; identifies and reports more complex maintenance needs to supervisor.Inspects facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to supervisor.Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required.Performs custodial tasks.Performs related duties, as assigned.Requirements:High School Diploma or GED;Minimum four years of relevant work experience.Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Proven knowledge and performance of the following: Methods and techniques used in the operation, repair, and maintenance of facilities and equipment.Operational characteristics of a variety of tools and equipment.Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.Principles and practices of record-keeping.Principles and practices for providing high level of customer service.
