Procurement Specialist I

Title: Procurement Specialist

Location: North Chicago IL (100% Onsite)

Duration: 6+ Months

Shift Time: 8am to 5pm

Pay Range : $22/hr to $25/hr (On W2)

We are looking for a “Procurement Specialist “ to join one of our Fortune 500 clients.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with purchase order (PO) creation and conversion for assigned categories.

• Support PO approvals within delegated authority limits.

• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve operational issues and invoice discrepancies.

• Maintain accurate documentation for purchases and ensure compliance with procurement policies.

• Participate in supplier communication and help monitor performance metrics.

• Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and process improvements under guidance from senior team members.

• Assist in preparing bid documents and proposals for routine sourcing activities.

• Provide administrative support for small-scale RFPs and procurement projects.

• Educate internal stakeholders on existing procurement tools and processes.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 1–2 years in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain preferred

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

• Effective written and verbal communication.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Fieldglass).

• Basic understanding of supplier management and contract administration.

• Interest in developing expertise in category management and sourcing strategies
