Pay Rate: 16.73
Schedule: 40 hours per week, onsite; varying shifts between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM
Training Start Date: November 16, 2026
Openings: Approximately 20

JOB SUMMARY

This is an entry-level Call Center / Customer Service Specialist position at a specialty pharmacy. The role involves handling inbound and outbound communications, assisting patients with insurance and billing questions, resolving complaints, coordinating authorization processes, and helping patients access financial assistance programs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Respond to inbound and outbound calls regarding patient inquiries, products, services, insurance coverage, and billing.
• Resolve customer service and billing complaints, including processing refunds, adjusting bills, and addressing service concerns.
• Investigate complex insurance rejections and assist with prior authorizations, appeals, and medical tier exceptions.
• Contact patients to provide updates on inquiries, claim investigations, and coverage adjustments.
• Coordinate patient enrollment in financial assistance programs.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
• Refer unresolved issues to the appropriate department for further investigation.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, inquiries, complaints, comments, transactions, and actions taken.

REQUIREMENTS AND SCREENING

• Entry-level position; candidates must demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must be willing and available to begin onboarding promptly and attend training starting November 16, 2026.
• Must successfully complete the required background check and drug screen.
• Must be comfortable working onsite in a specialty pharmacy environment.
• Must be able to handle protected health information (PHI) and maintain confidentiality.
• Thorough candidate screening is required, as offers will be based on resume review.

SCHEDULE AND ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

• 40 hours per week, onsite in Pittsburgh, PA.
• Shifts vary between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
• Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day will be observed as unpaid holidays.
• The next training class after November 16 is not scheduled until January, so candidates should be prepared to start with the November class.
