Manager, Radiation Oncology - San Jose/Pleasanton

$83.98 - $111.27 per hour

A Brief Overview The Manager, Radiation Therapy oversees the day‑to‑day technical operations of Stanford Health Care’s Radiation Therapy department. The position supports the organizational mission and priorities, ensures the delivery of cost‑effective, high‑quality care, and manages the radiation therapists responsible for treatment delivery. What you will do Anticipate and facilitate patient flow within the department and ensure appropriate utilization of resources that prioritize safe patient care and cost effectiveness. Collaborate with other members of the Radiation Oncology leadership team to achieve established targets, goals, and standardized practices across the enterprise. Develop and maintain policies and procedures for area(s) of responsibility that align with external regulatory requirements and departmental standards. Ensure correct charge capture and appropriate documentation at the point of service and provide education on billing and documentation related to simulation and treatment delivery. Maintain current knowledge of radiation oncology treatment modalities, billing, and coding practices. Monitor expenses for cost centers in the area of responsibility by reviewing budget reports monthly and reconciling expenses with purchases; monitor financial performance with focus on volume/revenue versus expenses. Maintain statistics and reports on data as appropriate; analyze referral, volume, revenue, and patient satisfaction data to identify gaps and strategize new technologies or programs. Continuously monitor workflow and processes to identify quality, safety, and efficiency improvement opportunities; use A3 thinking and PDCA principles for problem solving. Establish and maintain performance standards that meet regulatory requirements; hold team accountable for standards and documented policies. Control supply inventory, storage, and usage; ensure equipment is maintained and recommend service contract purchases. Analyze space needs and manage renovation projects to support program and volume growth. Order supplies and prepare purchase requisitions. Participate in capital budget planning and preparation; maintain recruitment/retention of staff, conduct personnel appraisals, competency assessments, and payroll verification. Provide educational sessions for the team and participate in continuing education programs and conferences. Schedule emergency and preventive maintenance for all equipment; work with vendors to meet service terms consistently. Oversee and maintain equipment service contracts. Participate in and potentially lead departmental committees as appropriate. Solicit direct patient feedback on service and use feedback to identify improvement opportunities. Establish goals and objectives that align with organizational strategies; develop systems to report progress and outcomes. Participate on equipment replacement projects, ensuring timely on‑budget completion. Perform other departmental duties as assigned. Education Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a work‑related discipline from an accredited college or university. Experience Qualifications Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to budget, make financial projections, and write reports. Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus. Ability to mediate and resolve complex problems and issues. Ability to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Ability to provide leadership and influence others. Knowledge of computer systems and software used in the functional area. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements related to the responsibilities. Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, administration, fiscal and personnel management. Licenses and Certifications ARRT‑RTT – Registered Technical – Radiation Therapy, ARRT. CRT‑T – CA Radiation Tech – Therapeutic, CRT‑T.
