Tampa Bay: Muslim Movement Practitioner Overview Tampa Bay is home to a growing Muslim diaspora from dozens of nations, representing hundreds of millions globally, many from restricted countries. This role exists to prayerfully engage these communities with the Gospel. You will prayer‑walk and build relationships in real‑world spaces like campuses, restaurants, and parks. Through abiding in Christ, you’ll share the good news, start Discovery Bible Groups, and gather them into new churches. You will often be the first Christian they’ve met even if they’ve lived here a long time. Whether full‑time or volunteer, you will be trained, coached, and sent to reproduce disciples among the Muslim diaspora—right here in Tampa Bay. This position requires raising support. Brutal Facts Population: 100,000 Believers needed: 10,000 Believers per Church: 10 Churches needed: 1,000 Context of Work Tampa Bay is uniquely positioned as a global crossroads where the Muslim world has come to our backyard. With over a dozen mosques, halal markets, and university students from Muslim‑majority nations, the opportunity is immense. Many have never met a follower of Jesus. Here, we can prayerfully engage the unreached through everyday relationships, multiplying disciples and churches among Muslims without leaving the city. In this strategic moment, we are asking God to raise up laborers who will abide, love boldly, and proclaim Christ among those who have never heard. Who Is This For? This role is for followers of Jesus who actively abide in Him and are ready to walk in surrendered obedience. Whether full‑time, part‑time, or volunteer, this position is for those who are strong in prayer, bold in Gospel witness, and hungry to see disciples made among Muslims. Team While in the city, Movement Practitioners will team with local Strategy Coordinators who are stewarding work among various gaps of lostness. Additionally, they will be equipped to build and catalyze their own team in a specific mission segment. Equipping Practitioners will be trained in simple, reproducible tools like 411, DBS, and contextual ways to share the Gospel and start disciple‑making groups. You’ll be equipped to engage Muslims in everyday life with the love and truth of Jesus. Rhythms The Practitioner is expected to maintain a daily abiding relationship with Jesus. They will seek opportunities to share the Gospel weekly, gather 2‑4 others committed to obeying Jesus, make disciples into a 3/3s group or training church, and train others how to do the same. Training Movement Practitioners will participate in and help lead training to equip others in disciple‑making. They will also be able to participate in problem‑solving meetings to sharpen their practice. Time Commitment Volunteer: 3‑5 hrs/week Part‑time: 10‑20 hrs/week Full‑time: 20‑40 hrs/week What We Are Asking of You Be faithful, available, and teachable. Abide daily. Pray like crazy.
