Position Overview: BizCap is seeking a full-time Litigation and Collections Counsel to join our team. In this role, you'll play a key part in handling litigation matters, primarily collections litigation and judgment enforcement, as well as some general corporate and contracts work. This is an on-site role in our NYC office.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Represent BizCap in a variety of litigation matters, including collections litigation, contract disputes, regulatory issues, and other legal proceedings.
\n
• Manage and oversee an active caseload including discovery, motion practice, trials and more.
\n
• Oversee judgment enforcement procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
\n
• Provide legal counsel and guidance to various business units within the company, helping to identify and mitigate legal risks.
\n
• Collaborate with external counsel as necessary.
\n
• Stay up-to-date on relevant legal developments, including fintech and financial services regulations, and communicate their implications to the leadership team.

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
\n
• 3+ years of hands-on litigation experience including motion practice, court appearances and discovery.
\n
• Strong legal research, organizational and analytical skills.
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
\n
