Operations Coordinator

What to Expect Your role is to run the operations of a single hardware site: procurement, the facility, people operations, finance operations, and the coordination that holds the four together. Purchasing runs from vendor accounts to receiving and inventory, including the chemicals and imported equipment that bring their own paperwork. The facility, payroll through a PEO, and the month-end close sit beside it. You will own the procedures and internal systems all of this runs on and write them down as you go, so purchasing, receiving, onboarding and the close each keep moving when you are not in the room. We are looking for operations professionals with experience and interest in purchasing and vendor management, facility and safety compliance, people operations through a PEO, and the finance operations under a small hardware company. Every role works with our AI systems daily. What can be deterministic, must be. You need no AI background; we prefer people without one. We hire for your knowledge and experience in the field first, so you can steer the ship; the tooling is a learning curve we expect you to take on. We work on-site in El Segundo. What You'll Do Procurement: vendor accounts and terms, quotes and purchase orders, lead time tracking and expediting Receiving and inventory: inbound inspection, stock locations, reorder points and cycle counts Chemical inventory and safety data sheets, hazardous goods shipping, and customs on imported equipment Facility: lease and utilities, contractors, safety equipment and inspections, waste streams, permits and insurance People operations: onboarding, payroll and benefits through a PEO, HR records, California employment compliance Finance operations: expenses and reimbursements, vendor payments, month-end close, and budget against actuals Site coordination: shipping and receiving, visitors and customers, travel, and office and lab supply Procedures and systems: administering internal systems, writing purchasing, onboarding and close procedures down What You'll Bring A degree in operations, business administration, supply chain or a related field, or equivalent experience Hands-on with purchasing systems: raising purchase orders, opening vendor accounts, holding a supplier to lead times Hands-on with a PEO or payroll platform: onboarding, benefits administration, HR records and compliance filings Fluent with facility compliance: safety inspections, waste handling, permits and insurance, and their records The judgment to prioritize when a delivery, a contractor visit and a close deadline collide Ready to set these functions up from nothing and write the procedures others will run from Bonus: hazardous materials handling and shipping with DOT or IATA training, or California HR compliance Expected Compensation $100k to $250k base salary, plus equity Equity participation in a high-growth startup Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company matching Bonus for living within 5 miles of our El Segundo facility On-site work with rare work-from-home exceptions Merit-based organization where contribution drives reward #J-18808-Ljbffr
