Job Description

Hawkhill is looking for a Responsible Master Plumber (RMP) to lead and grow our plumbing division. This is an ideal opportunity for an RMP who is currently running their own shop, or leading a small team of one or two others, and who has built a solid book of business but is ready to plug into an organization with the infrastructure, support, and momentum to take that business to the next level.

You'll bring your leadership and your customer base, and pair it with Hawkhill's existing client base, back-office support, steady pipeline of property-manager work, and growth trajectory. In return, you'll have a stake in building and running a plumbing team under the Hawkhill name by hiring, mentoring, and developing the crew as the division scales, all backed by the full support of a central office and team, so you can focus on the plumbing and let us handle the rest.

Ideally, this role is split roughly two-thirds in the field and one-third in the office: you'll stay hands-on with the more complex and higher-stakes calls, while also spending meaningful time building the team, developing processes, and working directly with leadership to grow the plumbing business. Because we work mainly with property managers and real estate agents, there's no upselling, just solid work done right with integrity.

Responsibilities

•        Serve as the Responsible Master Plumber of record for Hawkhill's plumbing division, ensuring all work meets code, licensing, and safety requirements.

•        Manage the transition and maintenance of the company's TSBPE Responsible Master Plumber designation, permit pulls, and local municipal registrations.

•        Lead, hire, and mentor a growing team of tradesmen, journeymen, and apprentices as the division scales.

•        Personally handle and oversee the most complex and higher-stakes residential and commercial plumbing calls, including but not limited to:

◦       Leak detection and repair

◦       Full home re-piping

◦       Adding bathrooms during renovations

◦       Apartment complex centralized systems

◦       Boiler line repairs

◦       Sewer and water line replacements

•        Help build out the systems, processes, and standards that let the plumbing team scale -  training up the team, maintaining quality control, and stepping in with your expertise on complex or escalated jobs.

•        Partner with Hawkhill leadership on growth strategy for the plumbing division, including integrating your existing client relationships and book of business with ours.

•        Interact professionally with clients (property managers and agents plus their customers) and provide excellent customer service.

•        Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local plumbing codes and safety regulations.

•        Maintain a clean and organized work area and company vehicles.

•        Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and timely.

•        Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

•        Valid Texas Responsible Master Plumber (RMP) License is REQUIRED.

•        Currently operating as an independent plumber or leading a small team (1-2 others), with an established book of business in the DFW area.

•        7+ years of hands-on residential/commercial plumbing experience, with a track record of running jobs and crews independently.

•        Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop other plumbers and apprentices.

•        Strong knowledge of residential plumbing systems, codes, and best practices.

•        Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

•        Comfortable operating in both a hands-on field role and an office/leadership capacity.

•        Strong communication, business, and customer service skills.

•        Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record.

•        Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and work in various conditions (e.g., confined spaces, outdoors).

•        Professional appearance and demeanor.

•        Reliable and punctual.

Preferred Qualifications

•        Experience with plumbing/field service software (e.g., Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan).

•        Backflow prevention certification.

•        Gas line installation and repair experience.

•        Prior experience building or scaling a plumbing team or small business.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: Highly flexible depending on the candidate but generally Base $85-110k depending on experience, plus production/growth share with top performers realistically earning $125-150k+ in year one.

Time Allocation: Approximately 2/3 field work, 1/3 team-building/office

Schedule

•        On-call rotation (as needed)

Work Location: Field-based with regular time in the Hawkhill office (serving/managing residential clients in the DFW area)
