Client Central is a legacy enterprise platform used by more than 15,000 Schwab employees each day to support cashiering, client servicing, and other business-critical capabilities. Key areas of focus for this role include transformational workstreams such as Broker-Dealer Modernization, Client Central Reimagined, and other highly strategic initiatives that modernize how reps serve clients across sales, service, and advice workflows.You will translate complex business challenges into intuitive, scalable, and user-centered solutions across complex, data-dense workflows that connect client information, service interactions, relationship context, and rep tools. Your work will help advance Schwab's modernization strategy by reducing friction, improving efficiency, and creating a more coherent experience across Client Central, related platforms, and the broader representative ecosystem — enabling reps to serve clients with greater confidence, speed, and effectiveness.What You Are Good At:Design ConsultingFacilitate collaborative design sessions including sketching and ideationLead design reviews and drive decisionsCreate design solutions with a multi-faceted team, considering how sales, service and advice channels work togetherModel and strengthen consistent design practices across partner teamsUse iterative design, research, and testing to reduce risk and improve outcomesVisualize ideas clearly through sketches, diagrams, wireframes, or prototypes, and provide the appropriate level of documentationDesign Expertise and ExecutionTake a systematic approach to designing interfaces, ensuring consistency across experiencesConduct the primary design activities, create deliverables, and conduct QA at an expert levelParticipate in and support research effortsCommit to improving our process and methods with an emphasis on both effectiveness and efficiencyDesign ManagementSet expectations with the project team and prioritize activitiesCreate and maintain design schedulesCommunicate status and agreements with project teamReview work with UX managers, keep them updated on project status and escalate items appropriatelyTeamwork, Collaboration and EngagementCollaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and other stakeholders to craft solutions that meet business objectives and user needsEvaluate feedback, reconcile competing constraints, and guide the team toward evidence-based decisionsAdapt your approach as research, business priorities, and technical constraints evolvePassionate about the team, our mission, and the needs of our partners and usersEnthusiastic about solving complex problemsWhat You Have*On your resume, please include a link to a digital portfolio of your relevant work; make sure to include any passwords required. We are especially interested in the problem you were solving, the role you played, the decisions you made, and the impact of the work.Required Qualifications:BA/BFA degreeMore than 5 years of design experience on digital products in a financial services environment, with in-depth understanding of technology applications, business architecture, client and representative experience, and project managementBackground or demonstrated comfort working in enterprise environments, business and IT strategy, Agile, Lean, process design, program management, customer relationship management processes, and related technologiesOutstanding verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organizationDemonstrated ability to communicate design rationale that connects user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibilityExperience applying AI tools and/or emerging spec-driven development practices to accelerate design exploration, prototyping, documentation, and delivery is a plus, including tools such as Figma Make, Figma Agent, Copilot, VS Code, and other AI-enabled workflowsPreferred Qualifications:Comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment, with a positive attitude and strong work ethicSelf-starter with outstanding organizational skills, able to track and manage multiple projectsExperience designing within or contributing to design systems, especially in complex enterprise environmentsGood understanding and/or experience with financial services regulationsKnowledge of Salesforce ecosystemKnowledge of Schwab products, services and support systemsKnowledge of Agile methods and processesIn addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
