Senior Accountant

Responsibilities Kforce is partnering with a client in the Saint Louis area to identify a Staff Accountant to join their team. The role supports daily accounting operations, ensures accurate financial reporting, and assists with process improvement and internal controls. The candidate must be detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment. Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and oversight of month‑end and year‑end close activities. Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards. Support audit, tax, and regulatory reporting processes while maintaining strong internal controls and documentation practices. Oversee key accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, cash flow monitoring, and fixed asset tracking. Partner with leadership on financial reporting, operational initiatives, and process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and support business objectives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. 2–5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong understanding of GAAP principles. Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail. Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Compensation The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs.
