Permanent Part Time – 0.8 EFT (64 hours per fortnight) Classification: RN35 ($107,875.37) + Superannuation Located at Bayside Health, Alfred Care Group, Melbourne About The Team The Alfred Care Group Renal Service provides clinical services that incorporate an extensive consultative and management program for inpatient, ambulatory and community-based renal care. Renal services are delivered across the acute inpatient ward at The Alfred, Caufield Hospital, outpatient and ambulatory settings, and dialysis units across Alfred Care Group sites. Services are provided across the spectrum of acute and chronic kidney disease, including dialysis and renal transplantation. Dialysis is delivered through in-centre, home and satellite dialysis models, including treatment for acute kidney injury. Renal transplantation includes both deceased and live donor transplants, as well as multi-organ transplants. The service also works in partnership with Peninsula and Regional Care Groups. About The Role Nurse Educators (NE) are leaders within nursing and education and role model professional nursing practice. As members of the Renal Service and Nursing Education team, they promote excellence in practice and foster an environment of inquiry and continuous learning. The Nurse Educator acts as a recognised resource for nursing staff, supporting the development of clinical capability and assisting nurses to achieve optimal patient care outcomes. This role is responsible for identifying, anticipating and responding to the developmental needs of nurses and the clinical environment. This is achieved through collaboration with local area and organisational stakeholders to design, implement and evaluate education initiatives that equip nurses to meet the increasingly complex needs of patients. The position will work within the Alfred Care Group Renal Service, with a focus on supporting nurses working in satellite dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home haemodialysis and ambulatory renal services. The role will contribute to the implementation of a Transition Support Program (TSP) renal pathway for nurses and support the Postgraduate Certificate in Renal Nursing Program, working closely with the Nursing Education Department and university partners to deliver and evaluate the program.
