Job Summary and Qualifications Participate in development of the plan of patient care services for the responsible clinical area(s) to achieve the mission and vision of the hospital. Ensure unit compliance with regulatory agencies and the State of Nevada Nurse Practice Act; maintain daily staffing standards, coach charge nurses and unit personnel on effective staffing patterns, and pursue opportunities to improve care or system processes using performance improvement principles and data. Participate in annual budget development, implementation, and maintenance; ensure operations are managed in unit(s) within established guidelines while delivering quality patient care. Select, train, and evaluate subordinates; initiate personnel actions per HR policies and organizational philosophy; provide opportunities for professional growth and serve as a positive role model for staff management, problem solving, and professional standards of nursing. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. BSN required; master’s degree in nursing or related health field required or actively in progress. BLS, ACLS certifications. Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or Nursing Administration (CNA) preferred. Basic computer and hospital informatics skills required. Specialty certification for clinical area preferred – NRP, etc. Current acute clinical knowledge required; minimum of 1 year of management experience required.
