PMO Program Manager

AbbVie is seeking a Program Manager for a fixed‑term contract in Westport. The Program Manager provides technical support and program management to key operations and NPI projects throughout the site. The successful candidate will apply best‑practice program management tools and methodologies to ensure programs are delivered on schedule and right‑first‑time, ensuring consistency across the site. You will lead lessons learned activities to ensure continuous improvement of program management delivery, and lead cross‑functional matrix teams from manufacturing, engineering, science and technology, quality assurance, purchasing and supply chain to execute strategies for development and supply of new products. The Program Manager will operate in a largely self‑managed environment with oversight from the Site PMO Manager. Responsibilities Evaluate activities, timelines and resource requirements necessary for new product development. Develop and maintain detailed program tracking tools and hold the cross‑functional matrix team accountable for milestone delivery. Support cross‑functional teams in executing strategies for development and clinical supply of new products. Identify financial resource requirements for key programs. Support supplier selection, technology transfers, capital expansions, regulatory filings and launch supply building. Identify and manage large continuous improvement projects. Adhere to and support all EHS & E standards, procedures and policies. Provide timely and accurate updates to Site Programme Manager, Site Leadership Team and IME management regarding project planning and execution. No direct reports but manage multiple cross‑functional resources as part of the Program Manager position. Provide cross‑training and guidance on project management. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related discipline (technical qualification in engineering, science or technology is a distinct advantage). Formal qualification in project management would be advantageous, but not essential. Experience of 3+ years in manufacturing, supply chain management, engineering, and/or process/product development. Experience planning and executing projects. Experience working in a cross‑functional team environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence peers in other functions or departments (Site/Global).
