About the Position

Job Title

Travel RN – Neuro Med/Telemetry (Night Shift)

Asheville, NC | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Neurosciences Med/Telemetry unit with patient ratios of 5:1 to 6:1 on day shift and up to 7:1 stretch on night shift
• Perform and document neurological assessments using the NIH Stroke Scale
• Perform routine procedures including Foley catheter insertion and IV starts
• Operate standard med/surge equipment and document care using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including charge nurses, CNAs, and HUC staff
• Float to other med/surge floors as needed per unit guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact state eligibility)
• ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in telemetry or med/surge

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior neuroscience or neuro med/telemetry nursing experience
• Outgoing, self-motivated personality with strong communication skills
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
