About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardio Thoracic ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in CVICU/CTICU experience required. Travel experience preferred. License: Active Virginia or Compact RN license required at the time of submission. Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association only) ACLS (American Heart Association only) NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Must-Have: Proficient in Epic. Arterial line management skills. Blood product administration experience. Central line care management skills. Strong neuro experience required, including post-brain surgery and EVD experience. Ability to manage multi-system organ failure and cardiac drips. Experience with ventilated patients and infection prevention. Description: We are seeking a Cardio Thoracic ICU RN for a 13-week assignment with the possibility of extension. Candidates will care for step-down patients due to a universal bed model. The schedule includes 3x12 or 4x12 shifts with weekend and holiday coverage required. Patients typically have a 1:1-2 nurse-to-patient ratio. Candidates must be capable of handling various complex patient needs, including managing arterial lines, starting IVs, and administering sedation. Experience with cardiac surgeries and post-operative care is essential. Candidates must follow isolation precautions and use PPE as necessary. This position requires strong critical thinking and assessment skills. Interest in working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment is a must. Candidates will work closely with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care. Please note that local candidates residing within a specified distance are not eligible for this position. Candidates will undergo tests to assess their telemetry skills prior to starting their contract.
