Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

As a substitute Special Education Teacher, you will provide meaningful support to students with diverse needs across all grade levels—from Early Childhood through High School. This flexible, per diem role involves stepping in for full-time Special Education staff when there are planned absences or last-minute callouts, ensuring continuity of instruction and care for learners throughout the district.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching Certification (must be submitted with your resume for consideration)
• Ability to quickly adapt to new classroom environments and grade levels
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Effective communicator with students, staff, and parents
• Experience working with students with a range of disabilities preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver lesson plans and instructional activities as outlined by the absent teacher or IEP requirements
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and support staff to meet individual student needs
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Accurately document student progress and daily activities as needed
• Uphold district policies and procedures to ensure quality education at every grade level

A strictly on-call arrangement means assignments may be planned in advance or offered same day/evening, depending on staffing needs. You will be compensated only for hours worked when called in to substitute in the district, providing ultimate flexibility to fit your schedule.
