Maintenance Technician

This role offers a unique opportunity to develop as a maintenance technician within a highly automated, fast-paced distribution environment. As a Maintenance Technician, you will learn to work with advanced robotics and material handling equipment, combining electronic, mechanical, computer, and automation engineering skills. You will support the reliability and performance of complex, high-speed systems that move tens of thousands of products around the world every day, while driving continuous improvement and ensuring safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Learn to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair complex high-performance manufacturing and material handling systems to maintain process efficiency and equipment availability.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on conveyor and material handling equipment by following established job plans, procedures, and manuals.
• Conduct maintenance and basic troubleshooting of robotics and robotic work cells under the guidance of experienced technicians.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to material handling equipment components, including motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, and tachometers.
• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment in highly automated and robotics-driven facilities.
• Follow technical documents, work instructions, and safety regulations to complete maintenance activities accurately and safely.
• Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and process efficiency.
• Collaborate with upstream and downstream operations partners to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruption to production.
• Communicate effectively with journey workers, senior technicians, and operations teams to share status updates, escalate issues, and document work performed.
• Adhere to all relevant safety policies and regulations, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• 1+ years of experience using PC software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Vocational or technical training, an associate degree or higher in a related field, or 1+ years of experience in reliability maintenance engineering or a comparable maintenance environment.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing operational items in an industrial, manufacturing, or maintenance setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with maintenance technician duties, including preventive, industrial, equipment, and conveyor maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Hands-on experience with automated conveyor systems and high-speed automation equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing material handling equipment (MHE).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
• 4+ years of military experience, particularly in technical, mechanical, or electrical roles, is preferred.

Work Environment

You will work in a large, modern distribution facility that features high-speed automation and extensive robotic components. The environment is highly data-driven, with systems in place to track performance against clear expectations, while still allowing you to work independently without micromanagement. The role is physically active and will require walking significant distancesoften around 10,000 steps per dayalong with regularly lifting up to 49 lbs, climbing ladders and gangways, and performing tasks that involve bending, reaching, and stretching. You will work with advanced robotics, automated conveyor systems, and a variety of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. Shifts are typically 10 hours in length, and all candidates must be open to any shift assignment, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as shift placement is determined by operational needs. Safety standards are rigorous, and you will use appropriate tools, equipment, and protective gear in a structured industrial environment focused on reliability and continuous improvement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.84 - $26.84/hr.
