We are looking for a talented soccer coach to help build our high school athletic program for the Fall 2026 Season.  

Reports To: Athletic Director and High School Principal

Position Summary

The High School Soccer Coach is responsible for leading a Christ-centered soccer program that develops student-athletes spiritually, academically, athletically, and personally. The coach will foster an environment of excellence, sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and servant leadership while supporting the mission and vision of Impact Christian Academy.

The coach serves as a positive Christian role model and is expected to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to developing students who exemplify the ICA motto:

"Follow me as I follow Christ."

Essential Responsibilities

Spiritual Leadership

• Model Christlike character in all interactions.
• Integrate biblical principles into practices, games, and team meetings.
• Begin and end practices and games with prayer and devotion.
• Encourage student-athletes to demonstrate the ICA Essentials on and off the field.
• Promote servant leadership, humility, integrity, and respect.

Program Leadership

• Plan and organize all practices.
• Develop age-appropriate training plans.
• Teach soccer fundamentals and advanced skills.
• Promote teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship.
• Prepare athletes physically and mentally for competition.
• Create a positive and encouraging team culture.

Student Development

The coach will intentionally develop student-athletes in:

• Leadership
• Accountability
• Self-discipline
• Respect
• Perseverance
• Time management
• Goal setting
• Conflict resolution
• Christian character

The emphasis is on developing young men and women of character rather than simply winning games.

Team Management

The coach will:

• Create practice schedules.
• Develop game strategies.
• Evaluate player performance.
• Maintain attendance records.
• Communicate expectations clearly.
• Encourage academic success.
• Promote positive relationships among teammates.

Communication

The coach is expected to communicate professionally with:

• Parents
• Student-athletes
• Athletic Director
• School administration
• Officials
• Opposing coaches

Communication should be timely, respectful, and solution-oriented.

Safety Responsibilities

The coach will:

• Maintain a safe practice environment.
• Inspect equipment before use.
• Enforce appropriate hydration and injury prevention practices.
• Follow concussion protocols and emergency procedures.
• Report injuries promptly.
• Supervise athletes until they are released to a parent or guardian.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Attend preseason coaches' meetings.
• Submit team rosters and eligibility information.
• Maintain equipment inventory.
• Assist with uniform distribution and collection.
• Ensure facilities are left clean after practices and games.
• Complete required athletic paperwork.
• Adhere to WIAA rules and school policies.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• Previous coaching or playing experience in soccer.
• Knowledge of soccer fundamentals and game strategy.
• Ability to teach and motivate high school athletes.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to mentor students spiritually and emotionally.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Completion of required WIAA coaching certifications.
• Agreement with the Statement of Faith and mission of Impact Christian Academy.

Time Commitment

The coach is expected to:

• Attend all scheduled practices and games.  Practices are Monday through Friday with most games during the week. Practices to begin mid-August.  
• Supervise athletes during all team activities.
• Attend coaches' meetings and required professional development.
• Communicate regularly with families throughout the season.
• Participate in postseason meetings and equipment check-in.
