Role Summary:

As a Business Deployment Consultant , you will help accelerate dealer performance and support the adoption of new commercial capabilities across the dealer network. You will partner with dealers and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, solve business challenges, and implement practical solutions that drive sustainable results.

You will support go-to-market strategies, retail concepts, digital tools, and commercial processes that strengthen customer experience and improve business performance. Working across sales, rental, service, aftermarket, and digital operations, you will serve as a trusted advisor—building local capability, supporting change adoption, and helping dealers achieve long-term success.

What You Will Do (Job Duties):

Safety & Culture

• Promote a strong safety culture by aligning deployment activities with company standards, best practices, and required protocols.

• Model “Win the Right Way” behaviors while encouraging collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Dealer Performance Improvement

• Evaluate dealer performance across sales, rental, aftermarket, service, and digital operations to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Analyze business challenges, determine root causes, and develop practical action plans that support measurable performance gains.

• Partner with dealer teams to execute improvement strategies that drive sustainable business outcomes.

• Use key performance indicators and data-driven insights to monitor progress, adjust actions, and remove operational barriers.

• Coach dealer personnel and help establish repeatable processes that support long-term success.

Commercial Capability Deployment

• Support the launch and adoption of new commercial capabilities, including go-to-market strategies, retail concepts, digital solutions, and customer programs.

• Create and refine scalable tools, playbooks, training materials, and standard work processes to enable consistent execution.

• Lead change management activities, including communication, training, adoption planning, and reinforcement.

• Partner with internal stakeholders to align priorities, remove obstacles, and capture best practices for broader deployment across the dealer network.

• Share progress updates, deployment results, and key insights with leadership and stakeholders.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Build trusted relationships with dealer personnel, customers, and internal business partners.

• Influence and align stakeholders to support business objectives and successful change adoption.

• Gather and apply Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback to strengthen commercial programs and deployment strategies.

Top Candidates Will Also Have :

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Five or more years of experience in sales, service, rental, aftermarket, retail operations, or commercial leadership within the Caterpillar dealer network or a comparable industrial distribution environment.

• Strong understanding of dealer operations, commercial business models, customer experience, digital tools, and performance improvement.

• Ability to analyze business performance, identify opportunities, make sound decisions, and drive measurable results in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to travel extensively, often on short notice, to support business needs across multiple locations.

• Experience as a Caterpillar field representative, dealer leader, or similar customer-facing commercial role.

• Background in management consulting, operational excellence, continuous improvement, or business transformation.

• Experience implementing commercial growth programs, retail concepts, pricing strategies, digital solutions, or other customer-focused initiatives.

• Experience leading change management efforts and influencing cross-functional teams.

Additional Information:

• This position is located in Cary, NC

• Relocation assistance is available

• Visa sponsorship or ISE assistance are not available

• Expected travel is 50% domestic

• Caterpillar employees are required to work onsite 5 days a week when not traveling

Summary Pay Range:
