Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Additional Details:

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Unit Details: - Patient ratios: Day shift 1:4-6; night shift 1:5-6. - Telemetry patients are monitored by a central monitor tech; events are called to the nurse, and telemetry strips can be viewed on the floor as needed. - Common drips include Lasix and heparin. - No vents on the unit; patients may require BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow. - Common diagnoses and patient types include COPD, sepsis, CVA, COVID, pneumonia, and post-op surgical patients such as hips, knees, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and bowel resections.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend required; weekend is Saturday and Sunday. - No call requirement. - Depending on the schedule, may be required to work every other holiday. - Self-scheduling is available, but for this short contract the manager will put the schedule in.

Special Requests: - Block scheduling may be accommodated if possible, but the every other weekend requirement must still be met.

Floating Requirements: - May float to another floor if they have the competency to do so. When floating, you will always take a full patient assignment, including ICU RNs.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
