Senior Lead Software Engineer - Solution Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of applied experience.
• We need hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We expect advanced proficiency in one or more of the following: Java, Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
• We require proven experience combining data architecture and solution engineering in large-scale production environments.
• We need practical experience with Kafka design and implementation, publishing data to a lake or data platform, Cassandra, Oracle, and Java for services, pipelines, or streaming and processing components.
• We require experience designing schema registry and data contract governance.
• We need experience building APIs and integrations with REST and GraphQL.
• We require strong SDLC discipline, including CI/CD, testing strategy, code review, production support mindset, and observability.
• We need the ability to work independently with minimal oversight, plus strong problem-solving and rapid learning capabilities.
• We require demonstrated experience leading the effective use of enterprise-approved AI-assisted software development tools, including setting expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• We need a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations, along with experience coaching senior engineers and leads on compliant usage patterns and controls.

• We provide technical guidance and direction to support the business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• We develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• We drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• We own end-to-end architecture and solutioning for Trust & Security data and integration capabilities, including target-state roadmaps and migration paths.
• We design and implement real-time streaming solutions using Kafka, including reliability patterns, scalability, operational readiness, data contracts, and governance.
• We build data publishing patterns to the lake or analytical platform for both streaming and batch use cases, with observability, data quality checks, lineage or metadata hooks, and access controls.
• We lead solution engineering for services and pipelines in Java, producing secure, high-quality production code and reviewing and debugging code written by others.
• We architect and model data stores for Cassandra and Oracle, considering partitioning, performance, consistency tradeoffs, resiliency, schema design, SQL performance, and integration patterns.
• We design service interfaces and integrations using REST and GraphQL, including clear API and error contracts, SLAs and SLOs, and backward-compatible change practices.
• We apply knowledge of SDLC toolchain capabilities, including approved AI-assisted development and automation, to improve the value realized by automation at scale.
