Metrology Technician

IQVIA Laboratories seeks a Metrology Technician to maintain, calibrate, and repair analytical instrumentation in their Ithaca laboratory. The role focuses on supporting HPLC and LC-MS equipment operation through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and regulatory documentation while coordinating vendor activities and training staff.
Responsibilities
- Install and qualify new laboratory equipment and instrumentation per standard operating procedures
- Perform calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of analytical instruments
- Maintain equipment documentation, calibration records, and preventative maintenance databases
- Troubleshoot HPLC and LC-MS systems to minimize downtime
- Coordinate vendor installation, maintenance, and instrument software validation activities
Requirements
- Associate's degree in electronics, mechanical technology, or related field
- Minimum 1 year laboratory environment experience
- Hands-on experience with HPLC and LC-MS liquid chromatography system maintenance and troubleshooting
- Experience calibrating and maintaining laboratory test and measurement equipment
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with regulated documentation
- Effective communication and organizational skills managing multiple priorities
Compensation: $46,200–$96,200 base
