About the Role

The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Campus Planning and Design and University Architect to serve as the primary steward of its campus buildings, landscapes, and public spaces. The successful candidate will lead the planning and design organization, providing strategic leadership for campus planning, architecture, landscape stewardship, and long-range physical development. This role involves serving as the principal advisor on matters related to campus planning and design, and ensuring that all decisions align with the institution's priorities and long-term development strategy. The AVP will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining design standards, leading design review processes, and promoting excellence, sustainability, and design continuity across the campus. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, professional licensure as a Registered Architect, and a minimum of 4 years' of experience in planning and design, with a focus on campus development projects. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, collaborative, and design-oriented leader with a deep understanding of higher education operations and governance. Essential skills include the ability to lead high-impact projects, exceptional communication, and the capacity to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders. A strong preference is given to candidates with an advanced degree in a related field, at least 10 years' of experience, and a proven track record of leadership in a complex higher education environment. The role requires a candidate who can balance design excellence with fiscal responsibility and who has a deep appreciation for the architectural and landscape heritage of the campus.
