Responsibilities

• Deliver bedside nursing care to patients across multiple units within the float pool, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
• Administer medications, perform IV therapies, monitor vitals and hemodynamic status, and assist with procedures per established protocols.
• Monitor patient status, identify changes, escalate concerns to the appropriate clinician, and respond promptly to emergencies.
• Float across units as assigned; adapt to different routines, equipment, and workflows while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record; maintain patient privacy and confidentiality; participate in shift handoffs and interdisciplinary communication.

Requirements

• Active New York State RN license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS through AHA or RQI, required
• Basic Coronary Care certification within 6 months of hire
• CPI certification within 90 days of hire
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Med-Surg, Telemetry, or Critical Care units
• Must be cross-trained for multi-unit coverage (med/surg, ICU, ER, MST) and comfortable floating to ICU/ER/MS/MST
