About the Opportunity

This growing, private equity-backed professional services organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to help strengthen accounting operations, reporting, systems, and controls across a multi-site business. The company has experienced significant growth through both organic expansion and acquisitions and is continuing to invest in its finance and accounting infrastructure.

This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys improving processes, leveraging technology, and working in a hands-on leadership position. The Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting functions, manage the general ledger and month-end close process, and own the accounts payable function while partnering closely with Finance, Operations, and IT teams.

Key Responsibilitie

• Oversee month-end close activities across multiple locations and business units, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Maintain ownership of the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
• Manage the accounts payable function, including vendor management, invoice workflows, coding accuracy, approvals, exception resolution, and payment processing
• Identify and implement process improvements across AP, billing, close, and reporting functions
• Serve as a key accounting systems resource, helping troubleshoot issues, improve workflows, and strengthen system utilization
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost center reporting activities
• Prepare financial analysis, budget-to-actual reporting, and variance explanations for leadership
• Partner with Finance, Operations, and IT teams to improve reporting, automation, and internal controls
• Support integration of acquisitions, new locations, or business units into existing accounting processes
• Assist with treasury-related activities, including cash monitoring and payment visibility
• Provide leadership, coaching, and oversight to accounting team members
• Support audits, policy documentation, internal controls, and special projects

.Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA preferred but not required
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger and month-end close responsibilities
• Prior experience overseeing accounts payable functions or AP workflows required
• Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff preferred
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
• Exposure to AP automation tools preferred
• Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is a plus
• Background in multi-site, multi-entity, professional services, manufacturing-adjacent, laboratory, distribution, or private equity-backed organizations is preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and variance analysis
• Comfortable partnering with IT and operational stakeholders to improve systems and processes
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance audiences

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid schedule with 2–4 days per week in-office (preference for 4 days, flexibility for the right candidate
