Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (3S Intermediate Care Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care Unit setting, managing a diverse medical patient population including respiratory conditions, DKA, arrhythmias, post-operative kidney transplant patients, and interventional neurological patients
• Monitor and manage telemetry patients with medical and surgical needs, including the renal population
• Maintain patient ratios of 3:1 for IMCU and 4:1 for Medical/Surgical observation patients
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and provide ventilator management as required
• Float within scope of practice to other areas of the facility as needed to meet operational demands
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active WV or Compact RN License (pending license accepted for submission; must be active prior to start)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of in-specialty (IMC, PCU, Stepdown, and/or ICU) experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required – must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Strong IMC and/or ICU clinical skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and ventilator management
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical exemption with documented allergist or physician record accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner electronic health records charting system
• Experience caring for renal, post-operative transplant, or interventional neurological patient populations
• Ability to accommodate a block schedule (open to discussion during interview)
