Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1+ years in specialty License: Valid RN license (pending license accepted) Certifications: BCLS, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Telemetry, IV Start, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Argatroban, Amiodarone, Dopamine (for renal perfusion only), CPMs, Orthopat, Constavac, Hemovac, Wound Vacs, traction. New Travelers Accepted: First-time travelers welcome. Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend required. Description: This position involves providing care to patients who have undergone orthopedic surgeries. The unit serves patients with a range of issues including bone and joint reconstructive surgery and sports injuries. The patient demographics include individuals aged 18 and older. Patient ratios are typically 1:4 but may flex to 1:5 in certain situations. The unit operates under a team nursing model which encourages collaborative practice. Telemetry monitoring is performed remotely by a dedicated team. Opportunity to float within the facility’s scope to meet patient care needs may arise. Staffing encompasses an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Required skills include the management of dysrhythmias and familiarization with various cardiac drips and orthopedic devices. Candidates must be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, focused on delivering high-quality patient care.
